Get an EORI number for Denmark
Denmark has no separate EORI application. A business gets its EORI number automatically when it registers as an importer or exporter on virk.dk. If your company is outside the EU, a number from any EU country works in Denmark, so the right country to register in depends on where your goods are first cleared. Apply for a Danish number here, and we'll check it's the right one for your shipments before we file.
How Danish EORI numbers are issued
Businesses register with the Danish Business Authority (Erhvervsstyrelsen) on virk.dk. When the registration includes importing, exporting or other customs activity, the business is given an EORI number at the same time. The Danish Customs Agency (Toldstyrelsen) handles customs.
A Danish EORI number is DK followed by the company's CVR number, for example DK11223344.
If your company is outside the EU
A company outside the EU registers in the EU country where it first has customs activity. If that's Denmark, it registers on virk.dk using form 40.112 for foreign companies, and gets an EORI number with its Danish registration number. It doesn't need to be established in Denmark.
To register as an importer, the Danish Business Authority's guide says the company needs a liable representative resident in Denmark. The representative shares liability with the company.
If your first EU shipment goes through another country, that country issues the number instead, and you use it in Denmark too.
How applying with us works
Start an application for Denmark. Before the form, we ask three quick questions: where your company is based, whether you already have an EU EORI number, and where your goods will first be cleared.
If Denmark fits, we prepare your application for the Danish Business Authority (Erhvervsstyrelsen). If another EU country fits better, for example because your goods are first cleared in the Netherlands, we explain why before anything is filed, and nothing changes without your OK.
You pay only once the number is issued.
