Get an EORI number for Estonia
Estonian businesses get their EORI number from the Estonian Tax and Customs Board. If your company is outside the EU, a number from any EU country works in Estonia, so the right country to register in depends on where your goods are first cleared. Apply for an Estonian number here, and we'll check it's the right one for your shipments before we file.
Who issues EORI numbers in Estonia
The Estonian Tax and Customs Board (Maksu- ja Tolliamet, or MTA). Businesses apply online in its e-MTA portal, under Customs, then Rights and obligations, then EORI. Without e-MTA access, you can apply at an MTA service point, but the applicant then needs a notarial authorisation.
An Estonian company's EORI number is EE followed by its Commercial Register code.
If your company is outside the EU
A company outside the EU registers in the EU country where it makes, or plans to make, its first customs operation. If that's Estonia, it applies to the MTA, and its number is EE followed by a non-resident code.
The application form is filled in from the company's entry in Estonia's Register of Taxable Persons, so the company needs to be registered there first.
If your first EU shipment goes through another country, that country issues the number instead, and you use it in Estonia too.
How applying with us works
Start an application for Estonia. Before the form, we ask three quick questions: where your company is based, whether you already have an EU EORI number, and where your goods will first be cleared.
If Estonia fits, we prepare your application for the Estonian Tax and Customs Board (Maksu- ja Tolliamet). If another EU country fits better, for example because your goods are first cleared in the Netherlands, we explain why before anything is filed, and nothing changes without your OK.
You pay only once the number is issued.
