Get an EORI number for Germany

German businesses get their EORI number, the EORI-Nummer, from German Customs. If your company is outside the EU, you don't need a German number: an EORI number from any EU country works in Germany. We file yours in the Netherlands.

One EU EORI number covers all 27 countries

Who issues EORI numbers in Germany

The Central Customs Authority (Generalzolldirektion) issues them free. Applications go through the German Customs Portal (Zoll-Portal). Since 1 October 2026, the older 0870 forms are only accepted in exceptional cases.

If your company is outside the EU

A company outside the EU registers in the EU country where it makes its first customs declaration. If that's Germany, the application goes to German Customs through the Customs Portal.

If your first EU shipment goes through another country, that country issues the number instead, and you use it in Germany too.

How we get yours

We prepare your application and file it with Dutch Customs, which issues an EU EORI number valid in Germany and every other EU country. You don't need a German or EU company, and you pay only once the number is issued.
