Get an EORI number for Italy

Italian businesses get their EORI number, the codice EORI, from the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency (Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli). If your company is outside the EU, you don't need an Italian number: an EORI number from any EU country works in Italy. We file yours in the Netherlands.

One EU EORI number covers all 27 countries

Who issues EORI numbers in Italy

The Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli. For an Italian business, the EORI number is IT followed by its VAT number (partita IVA). Businesses established in Italy are registered automatically when they lodge their first customs declaration, or can ask the Agenzia delle Dogane for a number beforehand. It usually takes about a day.

If your company is outside the EU

A company outside the EU registers in the EU country where it makes its first customs declaration. If that's Italy, the number comes from the Agenzia delle Dogane.

If your first EU shipment goes through another country, that country issues the number instead, and you use it in Italy too.

How we get yours

We prepare your application and file it with Dutch Customs, which issues an EU EORI number valid in Italy and every other EU country. You don't need an Italian or EU company, and you pay only once the number is issued.
