Get an EORI number for Spain
Spanish businesses get their EORI number, the número EORI, from the Spanish Tax Agency (Agencia Tributaria). If your company is outside the EU, you don't need a Spanish number: an EORI number from any EU country works in Spain. We file yours in the Netherlands.
Who issues EORI numbers in Spain
The Agencia Tributaria issues them. A business established in Spain needs a Spanish tax number (NIF) first, and its EORI number is ES followed by that NIF.
An EORI number isn't the same as a VIES number. Businesses trading with other EU countries register for VIES separately.
If your company is outside the EU
A company outside the EU that doesn't carry out tax-relevant operations in Spain doesn't need a Spanish NIF first. It applies with a separate form and gets a different format: ES, then the letter K, then 11 characters. A non-EU company that does have a Spanish NIF gets ES followed by that NIF.
If your first EU shipment goes through another country, that country issues the number instead, and you use it in Spain too.
How we get yours
We prepare your application and file it with Dutch Customs, which issues an EU EORI number valid in Spain and every other EU country. You don't need a Spanish or EU company, and you pay only once the number is issued.
